IRCC has granted the Northeast BC – Peace Liard region an additional 25 allocations for 2026. We will be holding a second candidate intake this month to issue these recommendations.

Key dates

  • Application period opens: Tuesday, October 13 at 12:00 noon

  • Application period closes: Tuesday, October 20 at 12:00 noon

Who can apply

This intake is open only to designated employers who have not yet received a recommendation in 2026. Employers who already received a recommendation this year are not eligible.

Employers who are not designated cannot apply in this intake. They will have an opportunity to apply for employer designation early next year (dates to be announced).

How to apply

A link to the SimpleSurvey application portal will be emailed to the primary business contact on file for each eligible designated employer two days before the application period opens.

Applications must be submitted via the portal during the official intake dates. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Applications may be submitted:

Rules, NOC codes and scoring

The IRCC occupation caps, NOC codes and scoring grid are the same as in the April intake. Candidates will be ranked by their score and selected competitively.

For full details, please review the 2026 Application Guide. Forms and other resources are also available on our Employers page.

Candidates from the April intake

Employers whose candidate was not successful in the April intake may submit either the same candidate again or a different candidate.

This is a new intake so a complete application with all supporting documents must be submitted either way to ensure that all documents and forms are up to date. This also gives applicants the opportunity to include any supporting documents they did not include last time.

All forms that require a signature must be reviewed and signed/dated again to ensure that they're current.

Please include all documents when you apply. Documents submitted after the application period closes cannot be accepted.

Candidate status

  • We are not accepting candidates on visitor status at this time.

  • Candidates on maintained status will be verified with IRCC to confirm that a legitimate application has been submitted to extend their status. A placeholder or "dummy" application will lead to refusal.
