The Peace Liard Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) has now reached the maximum number of recommendations permitted for the Sales & Service sector for the 2025 program year.
Our region was allocated an additional 20 recommendation spaces from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) this year, increasing our total from 60 to 80 recommendations. However, under the federal program framework, no more than 50% of recommendations may be issued to any one of the five eligible sectors.
Given the high demand within the Sales & Service sector, the 40 available spaces for 2025 have now been filled on a first-come, first-served basis. As a result, no further applications from this sector will be reviewed for 2025.
Designated employers in the Sales & Service sector are encouraged to reapply during the next intake, which is anticipated to open in early 2026.
We understand this news may be disappointing for some employers and appreciate your understanding. The RCIP team is currently planning for next year to help ensure an equitable opportunity for employers across all sectors in future intakes.
Further details about 2026 allocations and intake timelines are expected to be shared by early January. Please check back on this website for updates.
