The Northeast B.C. Immigration project has recently been made aware of individuals

operating in our communities who are offering cash incentives to businesses in exchange for hiring foreign nationals from outside of Canada.

We want to make it very clear: these practices are not legal. There are significant and regulated processes that must be followed to bring foreign workers into the country. Attempting to bypass these processes places both employers and workers at serious risk of legal and financial consequences.

It has also come to our attention that these individuals are misrepresenting themselves as being associated with the NEBC Immigration project. This is false. The NEBC Immigration project does not, and will not, engage or promote the services of any immigration or recruitment consultants.

We are advising all businesses and community members to exercise caution. If approached by individuals offering recruitment services under the name of NEBC Immigration, please decline and report the interaction to the appropriate authorities.

Our project remains committed to supporting legal, ethical, and sustainable pathways for newcomers to settle and work in Northeast B.C. Together, we can protect the integrity of our communities and ensure that immigration processes are safe, fair, and compliant with Canadian law.
