A Strong Start for the Northeast BC Region

As we wrap up the first full year of the Peace Liard Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP), we would like to take a moment to reflect on a successful and impactful year.

In 2025, we issued 80 RCIP recommendations across the Northeast BC region, supporting communities including Dawson Creek, Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Fort St. John, Fort Nelson, and the rural areas in between.

This milestone reflects the collective effort of many partners and participants. We would like to sincerely thank:

• Employers who stepped forward to address local labour needs

• Candidates who chose Northeast BC as their long-term home

• Community partners who supported settlement, integration, and retention efforts

  
  

The success of the pilot’s first year has helped establish a strong foundation and continued collaboration across the region. We look forward to building on this momentum as we plan for the year ahead.
